Paddlers can play a key role in detecting and preventing both aquatic and terrestrial species invasions in the Lake Michigan Coastal area of Northwest Indiana. Come to the Sunset Paddle a little earlier than usual 5:00 – 5:30 pm. – to find out species we should be concerned about in Miller, how you can report them, and why they should be reported. You’ll also learn how to use the easy-to-use smartphone application for mapping and reporting invasive species offered by the Great Lakes Early Detection Network (GLEDN). A smartphone is not required, however, as the data can also be entered into www.eddmaps.org/Indiana. To maximize your participation, you may want to create a profile for yourself on www.eddmaps.org/Indianaand download the free GLEDN application.
